Watching Tristan Roberts kick off the 2026 IBC World Tour with back-to-back wins has been unreal. Taking victories in both Morocco and Chile against some of the world’s best riders shows how locked in he is right now. Every event so far, he’s looked calm, confident, and completely in rhythm, whether the waves are heavy or the pressure is high.
After already winning two world titles in his career, it honestly feels like Tristan is surfing better than ever. In Morocco, he came out firing, putting together solid heat scores all event long, and then backed it up in Chile at La Nilda, one of the heaviest stops on tour. The level of riding there was world-class, but Tristan still managed to stand above the rest with huge moves and smart heat strategy.
What makes this run even more impressive is how competitive the IBC World Tour is right now. Guys like Amaury Lavernhe, Pierre Louis Costes, and Gabriel Braga are always dangerous, along with a new generation of younger riders pushing the level higher every year. But Tristan just seems to know how to deliver when it matters most.
You can see the confidence in the way he’s surfing. He looks comfortable in every condition and seems to be enjoying himself while still staying focused on the bigger goal. If he can keep this momentum going through the next few events, there’s a real possibility we could see him claim a third world title this year.
